Tatatata!<\/span><\/span> <\/span>This year, another PIWI \/ future wine variety is being harvested – we are already really looking forward to harvesting the Donauveltliner for the first time.<\/span><\/span> The Donauveltliner is a resistant new variety from the Higher Federal College and Federal Office for Viticulture and Fruit Growing in Klosterneuburg.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n The variety is a cross between Gr\u00fcner Veltliner \u00d7 Seyval Blanc (SV 5276) and has very good winter frost resistance and resistance to Peronospora and Oidium.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>The grapes are significantly looser-berried than the grapes of the Gr\u00fcner Veltliner grape variety and are therefore less susceptible to botrytis, and the harvest time is also earlier.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Its complexity makes the Donauveltliner particularly interesting and versatile – from simple wines for enjoyment to more complex variants, often with a balanced acidity and a light finish, the Donauveltliner is a versatile accompaniment to food and is particularly suitable for Wiener schnitzel, light fish dishes or Asian cuisine with mild spices.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>Apple, pear and citrus notes are typical for a Veltliner, but we do not want to equate it with our Veltliners, but rather develop it as a single variety and market it as a real future wine, because for us the future of winemaking lies precisely in these varieties.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Fotocredit @OEWM<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Tatatata!
